Palmyra United Methodist will welcome a new pastor and his family in July, 2022. Reverend Sung Woon
Yoo and his wife, Hyesun Yoo, have two sons. Kwangmin is graduating this year from UVA. Joseph, a
tenth grader, loves soccer. 
Sung has been serving God’s churches for over 30 years as a pastor. He studied in Theological school for
nine years. A Korean American, he has served churches in the Virginia Conference for 14 years. Before
then, he was in New Jersey for four years. Prior to that, he was in South Korea for 34 years. Sung was
ordained in the Korean Methodist Church in 2003. He was recognized as a Full Connection Elder by the
